Ms Jasmine Leonce

Consultant Obstetrician

Ms Jasmine Leonce is an enthusiastic Obstetrician with a special interest in high risk Obstetrics and Fetal Medicine. She has been the Clinical Director for Obstetrics at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trusts since 2015. She is committed to the national safety agenda such as Better Births, Saving Babies Lives Care Bundle, NHS Resolutions and the CQC standards of safe, compassionate and patient centred care. She is the Obstetric Maternity Safety Champion for her Trust and is a Quality Improvement Lead for the Maternal and Neonatal Safety Improvement Programme.

She contributes at a National Level as a Specialist Obstetric Maternity Advisor to HSIB and as a clinical reviewer for Independent Services Oversight Panel Wales. She has also been appointed as a Specialist Obstetrics Advisor to the CQC.

She is the Lead Obstetrician for Human Factors implementation in maternity at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust and has helped to establish a Human Factors faculty to reduce incidents and maintain patient safety.

She is passionate about teaching, team building and mentorship and contributes to the trainee departmental teaching programme in her unit. She serves as a mentor for newly appointed Consultants. She has done coaching as an approach to Leadership training and supports and manages teams in her leadership role. She was instrumental in launching the Fly With Me Mentorship Programmne in conjunction with Airbus Africa community with support links to a school in Zambia in 2018 which received a Project management Institute award nomination in November 2019.
